What is the lost resale value of your vehicle after an auto accident? Is it worth $2,000.00?

If you have ever traded in or sold your vehicle, then you most likely are well aware that if your vehicle has been in an auto accident you will get less then you would if your vehicle had never been in an auto accident. This is known as a diminished value claim. I have filed lawsuits to solely pursue diminished value claims. The diminished value is the lost resale value of your vehicle after the repair shop has already repaired your vehicle.
If you are ever in an auto accident, it is most likely public record. If your vehicle if fixed by a repair shop after an accident it goes on things like your vehicles car fax report. Anyone that may purchase your vehicle after it has been in an auto accident will be able to determine that it was in an accident. Ultimately, your vehicle loses a significant percentage of its resale value. Just recently on a Hyundai suv, I got a young lady $2,000.00 in lost resale value for her vehicle. A few months ago I got another young lady that was not injured in her auto accident, $1,500.00 for the lost resale value of a little Audi convertible. The diminished settlement value for your vehicle is typically determined by several factors including the amount of damage and the value of the vehicle. On several of these claims, I have found myself educating the Insurance Company and their Lawyers that they are obligated to cover this sort of claim.
If you think you may have a diminished value claim I would highly suggest you contact me for your free consultation. I am an experienced attorney that has litigated, negotiated and settled several diminished value claims. The statute of limitations in Florida for a diminished value claim is four (4) years from the date of loss. Therefore, if you were in even a minor fender bender sometime in the last Four (4) years I would highly suggest you call me for your free consultation. To obtain the diminished value of your vehicle, you must own the vehicle. It can be financed, however it cannot be a leased vehicle because there is no ownership or resale interest that you retain in the vehicle.
Please note that none of the foregoing is legal advice and if you have a legal matter you should most likely contact an attorney, even if you decide not to call me you should probably still get in contact with some lawyer.
