 Unfortunately, there has been a fatality in the nations capital due to a bus collision with a car. The Metro bus accident occurred after sunset authorities said. There was a 24 four year old that was killed as a result of the accident. The traffic accident happened at the intersection of Minnesota Ave. NE and Benning Road NE around midnight. The local authorities closed the intersection during an investigation into the fatal accident. The initial investigation found that the bus was headed eastbound on Benning Road, NE. As the bus was making a left turn onto Minnesota Avenue, NE, a Nissan Altima traveling in the opposite direction, westbound, swerved into the left lane and struck the bus head-on . The driver of the Nissan later died at the hospital. Several passengers in the bus and passenger car were also taken to the hospital.
