Airplane Accident Lawyer


 


As an Instrument rated pilot, I have a unique understanding as a lawyer of how an Airplane Accident may occur. Though I also practice law as a car accident lawyer, I take airplane accident cases as well. Airplane accidents can occur for a number of reasons. The most commonly faulted reason is pilot error or human error. As a pilot, I understand the multiple checklists that are involved before we even go to the airport, let alone blast off from the runway.

Before each flight there is a multitude of checklists and personal factors that a pilot is supposed to consider. For example the IMSAFE checklist. This checklist is utilized to determine if the pilot is safe to fly. The "I" in this IMSAFE checklist sands for Illness. In other words, as a pilot are you ill or healthy. Understanding the physical demands of being a pilot, it is important to not have any illness while you are flying an Airplane. The "M" stands for Medication. Has the pilot taken any medication that may inhibit their ability to fly the airplane. Medication that is on the FAA banned list or that may cause drowsiness.

The "S" stands for stress. Is there any stress that the pilot has undergone that may affect their ability to fly the airplane. The "F" stands for Fatigue. Has the pilot gotten enough rest? On large international airlines their are multiple pilots on board almost like teams that rotate every few hours. They do this to be certain that a pilot that is not fatigued is always flying the plane. The final letter "E" stands for emotions. In other words is their any emotional state of the pilot that should be considered before a safe flight can be completed.

Tractor Trailer Truck Accident

A Distribution Center is generally a central location that Semi-Trucks go to load and unload their Tractor Trailers. The case I worked on was where a tractor trailer truck driver was hit by another tractor trailer truck.
