Fatal Death in Rockingham Co. Virginia Car Accident
The authorities responded to a multiple vehicle accident in Rockingham County Virginia on October 2, 2020 at approximately 12:15pm. Unfortunately, a passenger in one of the vehicles died at the scene of the accident. My heart goes out to the family of the 17-year-old young man.
The crash forced a clean up effort that involved the Virginia State Police creating a detour off of the highway and then back on the highway down the road.
The family of the young passenger most likely has what is known as a wrongful death insurance claim against the insurance policies in effect at the time of the accident. In Virginia there is a two (2) year statute of limitations on wrongful death cases. This means that in order for the immediate family members of the deceased young man to receive any sort of compensation from the insurance companies they will need to pursue said claim within two years of the accident or October 2, 2022.
An injured passenger in a car accident most likely always has a valid claim for compensation. I have gotten persons injured in car accidents compensation for their claim, check out my results. Unfortunately, in this instance the injury resulted in a young man losing his life. When someone dies in a car accident and it is the fault of another person, it is typically a wrongful death action. I have represented a persons family whom has been killed in an car accident.
The authorities of the Rockingham Co. accident reported that charges are pending. This is important because if charges are pending and actually filed, this typically means that the at-fault driver or the insurance policy in effect at the time of the accident would be unquestionably liable.
