Women Pinned Underneath a Car


 


Recently, in Washington, DC a women was struck by a motor vehicle while she was travelling on her scooter. The Vehicle came to a rest on top of the women. There is video of the accident and subsequent events. The average weight of an automobile is several thousand pounds. A motor vehicle can easily break bones, cause permanent injury, or death if it is on top of a person.

Fortunately, for the scooter rider, there was help nearby. Several close by military personnel assisted in getting the vehicle off the injured women. They used their resourcefulness and grabbed the cars jack to lift the vehicle off the injured women. When Emergency Services arrived they took the women to the hospital. Because of the quick action taken by the good Samaritans near the accident the time it to to get the women to the hospital was significantly reduced. This is highly important because the sooner a person gets to a medical facility after an accident usually the better.

Depending on how the accident happened, a person struck by a motor vehicle accident may be entitled to compensation for their injuries. A Distribution Center is generally a central location that Semi-Trucks go to load and unload their Tractor Trailers. The case I worked on was where a tractor trailer truck driver was hit by another tractor trailer truck.
