Uber, Lyft and Ridesharing Apps Car Accident Claims

I represent clients who have been in auto accidents while using ridesharing apps like Uber and Lyft. Each car accident case is different. Every case requires its own evaluation, diligent investigation and review. To that end, when a potential client calls me for a free consultation I use my experience, legal knowledge and detailed oriented approach to evaluate every claim as a car accident lawyer.

When a client is in a vehicle accident usually one of the first things I do as an Attorney is check to see what insurance policies are applicable. Generally, I get the letter of representation and insurance policy request letter out the same day that the client signs up with me. This is important because for the most part the insurance company should be interacting with me as a lawyer and my client needs to know how much coverage is available for their claim. I have had more then one client that wanted to seek more medical treatment because of accident related injuries however could not because there was simply not enough insurance coverage.

Ridesharing apps like Uber and Lyft, usually carry more coverage if the passenger is in the vehicle on the way to their location when the accident occurs. I have seen Uber and Lyft policies amounting to $1,000,000.00 in coverage or more. This knowledge becomes important at settlement time because the more coverage they have the more shear liability exposure they have. Also, having worked on these types of cases before, the details of the app usage become important for the coverage to be applicable. I have had cases where the insurance coverage through the app was in full force and a case where the app was just on and not in use were in that particular case the policy was not in effect. I highly suggest you take a free consultation from a auto accident attorney if you have been in a vehicle accident.

Please note that none of the foregoing is legal advice nor should it be considered a legal advertisement, if you have a legal matter you should most likely contact an attorney. Even if you decide not to call me you should probably still get in contact with an Attorney. The Law Offices of Christopher G.
